The greatest thing Paul has done for me has been in helping my children.  I have 4 - all of them are very active and all love going to "Dr. Paul to get put back in the right place."  They trust him implicitly.

In March, my daughter, Katie, who is 9, came down with a high fever and general malaise - all signs of the flu.  She is also an avid Irish Step Dancer, and this occurred the week before St. Pat's, when she was scheduled to perform with her company all week long.  Her pediatrician discussed her case with me - we both agreed it seemed like the flu, and over the next 4 days, ran the standard course and she seemed to get better.  She went back to school and had various performances all week.  On St. Pat's, she and her brother danced all over the Boulder area all day, including nursing homes, rec centers, and pubs.  Shortly after finishing for the night she got very ill.  By the next morning, her fever was 105o, she was vomiting, and deep red all over her body.  I took her to her pediatrician's office, where many tests were run.  The initial tests indicated that she did not have the flu, might have pneumonia and a bacterial infection.  She was sent home with oral antibiotics.  Over the course of the day, she got worse, and was vomiting in her sleep.  She was later admitted to the hospital, and put on IV fluids and antibiotics, which controlled her fever and rehydrated her.  She was released the next day.

The following week, Katie did not "bounce back" - she got progressively worse - sleeping 20 hours per day, weak, shaky, unable to stand, and mentally altered.  When I took her to her doctor's office, her blood pressure was abnormally low.  Two days later, she was admitted to Children's Hospital.  After a battery of tests, it was determined that she did have flu (flu B, one that did not have an immunization this year), and had probably suffered from a secondary bacterial infection that caused a toxic shock reaction.  Slowly, without any intervention on the part of the doctors at Children's, Katie's blood pressure began to stabilize.  When they released her, she still could not walk, was exhausted, dizzy, ataxic, and nauseous.  I was told that with time, she would get better.

The next day I called Paul.  I am not sure why I did not call sooner - I know better.  After a thorough exam, Paul worked with Katie on color and light stimulation and adjustment.  We made an appointment for the next day.  That evening, when we pulled into the garage, Katie got out of the car and walked up 4 steps on her own into our house.  She sat at the table unassisted for the first time in over 2 weeks.  She asked her brothers and sister to play a game with her.  My little girl, who would turn away from people so she could sleep and had to be coaxed to sit up, was finally coming back.

I brought her in the next day for another appointment - I was so excited, I was near tears.  I think Paul was even a little surprised by how well she was doing.  After her second adjustment, Katie was sitting outside, enjoying the sun, listening to Irish music to which her siblings were practicing.  She started tapping her toes and clapping her hands.  Hesitantly, she got up and took a few steps.  This is the same girl that 48 hours earlier had passed out while brushing her teeth in the hospital.  Two days after this, Katie was beginning to leap and dance with joy.  Katie had also missed the beginning of soccer season from this illness.  She had missed the first two practices.  When she went out for practice, I was nervous that she would tire quickly and get discouraged.  She quickly ran right with the others and had a great practice.  At her game that weekend, she scored two goals - her team won 3-2.

In the scheme of things, a little girl's return to normalcy may not mean much.  For me, it has been nothing short of a miracle, and Paul has been and continues to be one of God's angels on this Earth.  Paul always works closely with the medical community, and has never hesitated to encourage me to see my GP or other specialist when I needed medication.  He has also always mitigated my pain, and decreased my healing time from injuries and illnesses.  My husband, a very cautious engineer, finally went to Paul for adjustments after he saw when Paul did for Katie - and already he is reaping the benefits of chiropractic health.

RE: Interactive Metronome Testimonial
My 10 year old daughter, Ellie, has D.D.D. and school can be challenging for her. In the fall of 2005, she began 4th grade in a class of 32, which was too lard to give her the attention in school that she needed. In October, she enrolled in Catholic school with 16 in her class. At the initial meeting with the principal and the teacher, I recall that after looking at her school work, they were not sure that they could accommodate her – she was so far below grade level and they did not have any special services.

Dr. Austin told me that I.M. was an occupational therapy that helped people improve focus, balance, and timing skills.I spent a great deal of time researching the I.M. nationwide, and found many occupational therapy clinics that reported improvement in these areas in every case.

Ellie completed 15 hours of I.M. between Oct. 24 and Dec. 30 of 2005.Dr. Austin’s initial assessment of Ellie showed that her ability to distinguish right from left (with her eyes closed), and her ability to balance, were significantly compromised. This finding made sense as Ellie frequently had left sided injuries….left ankle, left knee, left arm, broken left leg, hurt fingers, etc.

It was fun to sit in the waiting room and hear the happy sounds of my daughter beating her records. The self esteem aspect of the I.M. exercises would have been enough reward, yet there have been others.Ellie has not had any accidents since the I.M. exercises.

At her school conference in late April, Ellie’s teacher said how proud she was of her to have accomplished so much this year.I have attached her report card...before I.M. her GPA was 2.27.In April it was 3.23.WOW!

Since the I.M. Ellie was always on medication and no other occupational therapies were completed.
Thank you, ~Julie Dineen

I demand a great amount from my body everyday.  Being a world-class 400-meter hurdler requires strength, endurance, flexibility, and a sense of well-being. During the 3 months that Dr. Austin has treated me, he has not only taught me more about the functionality of my body than anyone has done in the last 20 years, but has made me a better, more knowledgeable athlete. I just wish I knew him 20 years ago! ~Maurice Mitchell, World-class 400-meter Hurdler

Dr. Paul D. Austin is a professional who has extensive education and experience in his field. I experienced excruciating back pain, and Dr. Austin was able to accurately diagnose and treat my condition, thus improving my quality of life. I was impressed with the way he thoroughly explained my condition and treatment plan to me. I recommend him for all your chiropractic needs. ~Deb Bishop, R.N., M.N.A.

I am writing to express my gratitude for the care I received from Dr. Paul Austin.  From my initial consultation to the follow-up I still receive, he has impressed me with his knowledge, insight, and results-based approach to medicine.

For several years I had been seeking treatment for a complicated and debilitating allergy condition.  I had visited general practitioners, allergists and dermatologists.  All of them offered a quick diagnosis and a prescription of some kind.  None of their approaches included any follow-up and none of their diagnoses were useful for me.

I hadn't ever considered chiropractic care to treat my unique condition.  I was also very skeptical of medical professionals based on my unproductive experiences.  Reluctant and hopeless, I visited Dr. Austin at my husband's urging.

From the first consultation, I found Dr. Austin to be very passionate and knowledgeable about treating people.  He asked a host of insightful questions with genuine interest.  He did not draw any drastic conclusions, but began a treatment program that used concrete data as its basis.  With every visit, he gathered information, discussed my progress and results, and fine-tuned my treatment around what worked best for my chemistry.  He offered an approach that incorporated my personal and medical histories, my neurology and physiology, my diet, lifestyle and career.  For the first time in my medical experience, I felt listened to.  His treatments have resulted in better energy, improved diet, a wealth of information about how my body works, and the management of my allergy condition.  The results shocked me.

Currently, I am healthy and very grateful for Dr. Austin's care.  I have praised him to many of my friends.  In the future I will not hesitate to seek his advice on any health issues I may encounter.

I have been receiving chiropractic care for almost 20 years.  For the past 12 years, I have been a patient of Paul Austin.  I originally came to Paul for on-going cervical and thoracic pain due in large part to injuries sustained in two car accidents when I was in my late teens and early twenties.  At the time of the injuries, my medical doctors told me that there was nothing I could do to alleviate my pain except narcotics, and that I would have to "learn to live with it."

Paul has alwas worked to maximize my health - not just alleviate back spasms and headaches.  Paul has seen me through 4 wonderful pregnancies and two heart-breaking miscarriages, always with gentleness, kindness and wisdom.  My children and husband all go to Paul for health care.

I had long suffered from migraine headaches.  About 7 years ago, they became very regular and debilitating.  I saw general practitioners, neurologists, endocrinologists, gynecologists - you name it.  I underwent many tests, and eventually was put on prophylactic medications to help ward off the headaches.  I am extremely active and athletic, and was dismayed to have to go this route.  I went in to see Paul for routine adjustment and mentioned my headache issues.  During the exam, he told me that I needed C1 adjusted.  My migraines went away.  If I see Paul once a month, I never suffer from them - it is only when I wait too long that I get them back - a strong impetus not to miss my adjustments!

I had also suffered from chronic sinus infections - several every year - caused mainly from allergies.  My visits to Paul have stopped all that - I don't take any allergy medications, and in the last 4 years, have had one sinus infection - a fantastic improvement over the 4 per winter I had been having.

Paul has educated me and encouraged me to be as healthy as I can.  I eat better, am more informed and am in the best shape of my life - all due to his education and help.

I humbly thank God for Paul Austin.  His common sense approach, unbelievable patience, wisdom and positive attitude are examples to all healers.  Many of my friends have become "converts" to chiropractic just from watching what has happened to me.  I believe that both the chiropractic and medical communities are essential to the health of the whole person - and I am so grateful that both are available to me and my family.  I know our lives are richer, healthier, more complete with chiropractic.

RE: Interactive Metronome

This is your star student! The Interactive Metronome really did change my life! I just came from tennis camp, and I have so much control over the ball, and I didn't know I could control the power of my hit. Also, after I finished, when I told my brain that I needed to slow down, I could actually feel myself slow down and I felt the right brain kick in! Your program has really changed my life.

Thank you, ~Eleana Chase

P.S. Also, when I eat, I've slowed down, and since ending the program, I've never actually been stuffed like I was before. I eat slow enough that my stomach can tell my brain it's full!

I have been a patient of Dr. Paul Austin’s for the past four years.  I had been having some serious lower back pain with tingling down my left leg.  Dr. Austin did a thorough health history and evaluation and performed my first treatment.  I noticed some immediate improvement.  I went in for treatments/adjustments three times a week for about a month and then, gradually, tapered off my office visits as I regained a pain-free back.  I was taught some exercises to continue my healing process.  Interestingly, on my second or third visit, Dr. Austin asked if I was having pain in a specific area of my right hip.  I acknowledged that, indeed, I had a painful hip for the past ten years.  I’d had x-rays, a CT scan and an MRI resulting in non-diagnosis and pain only partially managed by taking NSAID’s over the years.  I was ready to discount any need for treatment.  Dr. Austin applied a specific pressure to my area of pain resulting in complete relief of pain that I’d come to accept as normal!

I’ve continued to see Dr. Austin for monthly, well-visits and have noticed a significant improvement in my overall health.  I used to have sinus infections at least 4-5 times per year.  I don’t believe I’ve had more than one or two sinus infections since I’ve had regular adjustments.  I rarely have a headache.

I refer all my family, friends and co-workers to Dr. Austin and they’ve all had excellent results.  I was raised by parents who were skeptical of chiropractic treatment.  My husband was shocked when I told him that I was going to see a chiropractor.  Imagine my surprise when he sought out treatment from Dr. Austin for his own spine problems based solely on my successful outcome.  I continually refer my family, friends and co-workers to Dr. Austin and they, too, have had excellent results.

Thank you, Dr. Austin, for significantly improving my health!

~Sharon Forinash

I have been seeing Dr. Paul on a regular basis now for over a year.  I was lucky enough to find him via Google when I was searching for chiropractic neurology.   Unfortunately, not enough chiropractors practice this, and it is unfortunate.   Dr. Paul does his very best to understand the person and what that person does in their life to cause whatever ailments they have.  Then, he treats the ailments and the root causes, and gives you homework to get it done.  So, not only do you get treatment, you learn.  This is proactive treatment and you learn to listen to your body.  How else can you figure out what is wrong?  Most chiropractors bring you in - do the routine and there you go.  That is not effective, and it can hurt you.  The body is complex, and when doctors don't take the time to figure out how it relates, you don't progress.  So, thank you Dr. Paul for sharing your knowledge and helping me through my injury and my day to day issues both mentally and physically.  I am very grateful.

When I became a patient of Dr. Austin I was suffering from severe lower back pains for months.  I was hesitant to go to a chiropractor because  of unproductive experiences.  It had gotten particularly bad one weekend, I gave up and made an appointment with Dr Austin.  Dr. Austin spent a good hour with me talking about all the different things that can cause back aches.  He asked me a lot of questions about my diet and my lifestyle.  He listened with genuine interest.  After two adjustments and following the treatment plan, I was walking and sitting without pain.  I had more energy, I was less stressed.  It was a miracle!

He has really helped improve the quality of life for me.  I am very grateful to him.  I wish I had met him a lot sooner. J

Thank you!

~F.D.
